We played in the bar area instead of the main hall. This created an electric atmosphere. Only problem was the whole band had come down with flu so the set was a little reserved as to what Holiday Bob could sing but a great evening all the same. TWO BOB TO OPEN THE SHOW at the Chiddingly Festival on September 27th mid-day for the acoustic set. One Bo b's worth of The Two Bob Band CHIDDINGLY FESTIVAL Acoustic folk THE SHIP HOTEL , NEWHAVEN A SMALL VENUE WITH A BIG HEART is how we would describe THE SHIP in Newhaven. Great atmosphere, other musicians have played here, a sense of history, you knew that this was going to be a good evening. The Two Bob Band was a first at this venue for the Dylanesque genre although snippits from our "rock" set were appreciated by our enthusiastic audience. The SHIP HOTEL also hold Acoustic Sundays (open mike) and Live music every week. We are back in January, check the events page. EVENT IN THE TENT: The heavens opened during the afternoon of Saturday August 9, but country folk and their friends are a hardy bunch, so come the evening about 170 brave souls turned out for the annual Event in the Tent, which this year was run by Glynde Working Men’s Club (giving the flower show committee a well earned break).
BACK IN THE STUDIOThe crowd were entertained by The Two Bob Band, a local six piece who can be found at www.thetwobobband.com The rain continued to fall, but it couldn’t dampen the spirits of the revellers who enjoyed the vibrant music and danced the night away. A raffle was held with around 40 prizes, ranging from wonderful cakes and vouchers to a tandem paraglide flight, all kindly donated by various local businesses and individuals. Everybody left with smiles on their faces, vowing to come again next year. A vote of thanks must go to all who helped the club run this event, particularly the young people of the village who helped set up and decorate the tent and to all those who came, braving the weather and making it such an enjoyable evening for everyone. (Dave Todd). GLYNDE FETE FEST (EVENT IN A TENT) The worst of British summer weather did not dampen the spirits of the annual flower show and fete day. A giant marquee was erected and donated by the local church and used to stage our evening EVENT IN THE TENT. This may be an annaul twist to fete day so expecting more next year. The wind and the rain seemed to add to the atmosphere with hundreds of people having a good time. The coloured lights supplied by the GLYNDE WORKING MEN'S CLUB and the stage lights of THE TWO BOB BAND lit up the evening on the worst weather of the year so far. We enjoyed every minute of our time at Glynde and special thanks to Veronica for all her hard work in organising and asking us to play this event.Second phase of our recording at LITTLE LONDON STUDIOS will take place on 6th JULY. ![]() THE GOOD OLD TERMINUS We always enjoy the Terminus and they enjoy us. Marc was on fire, we all upped our game and rock and roll. We are there again on JULY 19th, see you there THE BAY HOTEL, PEVENSEY BAY We've introduced Marc to our line up so this was Marc's first gig with us. What a difference he has made to our sound. This was our first gig at The Bay hotel, a good sound and a warm comfortable venue. There was entertainment on at the pub opposite from a popular band so numbers were spread thinly between the two venues and a constant shift of numbers where the smokers outside were getting the best of both, even though it rained. We had a core of listeners who enjoyed every moment, expressed in their applause. Look forward to our next gig there. "LIVE"@ LITTLE LONDON STUDIOS We had a terrific day at the studio where we chose to do a "live" recording for a demo which will go towards the album. The day did not go without a major hiccup, Nick, (drummer), with a work related issue could not attend. The day was saved by young Marc who stood in for us, a perfect choice. Marc will get a mention on our BIOGRAPHY page THE DRIVE, EASTBOURNEA perfect venue for live music, probably the best in Eastbourne for free entry music. We were offered a coffee on arrival, their hospitality second to none, friendly staff, many thanks to Di for allowing us to perform for the people of Eastbourne Old town. They do have an issue with a nearby resident whereupon a noise limiter is installed but it did not distract from a good evening of entertainment. Our music is pretty versatile, we did lay off our punchier rock. www.thedriveeastbourne.co.uk "LIVE @ THE DRIVE (Music) Location:EASTBOURNE, Victoria drive, (old town) Time:20:00:00 to 00:00:00 AN EVENING OF DYLANESQUE RETRO-ROCK, FOLK-ROCK MUSIC PERFORMED BY "THE TWO BOB BAND". This was our first time at this venue and not only were we impressed with the warm and friendly welcome from the staff, we also had a hot reception from the audience who stayed, supported and participated with us to the very end. Nick gave his all, the band performance second to none, the sound balance perfect, this was an evening not to forget. Stubob sung an unusual version of Dylan's "DON'T THINK TWICE", Holiday Bob just back from holiday on top form, our new songs were put to the test. The date has not yet been confirmed It will be very soon. ![]() REQUESTS As our popularity grows, we have many request's for certain numbers to be played, We will try to honour those requests but it may take a while. It was a huge compliment to be told that we sound like Neil Young's Crazy Horse when we rock and that was from a Neil Young fan....WOW! THE TERMINUS, HAILSHAM.. A venue that has staged live music for about a year and has a growing reputation as the place to be on a Saturday night. The bands that perform there are of a good quality or they don't get asked back. The Two Bob Band's first gig there has now raised that standard. An instant comparison to "The Blue Donuts", www.myspace.com/thebluedoughnuts a top band that perform at the Terminus whose music i particularly enjoy. "The Two Bob Band roadshow is rolling on with no mercy. The Terminus is a large place, at the end of the evening it was totally packed, the streets emptied to see who this band was. Several encores later the band was allowed to finish as the evening turned into the early hours...The Two Bob Band....watch this space." LOCAL NEWS Our return visit to the Terminus was greeted with the same rapturous applause as our first time. Next visit, April 19th, see you there.
MULLENS...EASTBOURNE..THE SIX BELLS....CHIDDINGLY, sussex.. WE HAVE PLAYED THE SIX BELLS, not every band can say that. They gave us the opportunity to perform there and we didn't let them down. We have won some more friends for our ever growing fan base. The reception was as warm as the beams in this historical venue, to us it was an honour. Check it out on www.myspace.com/thesixbells now you can see what i mean .. ![]() "Eastbournes premier live music venue". More used to Blues and Rock genres and its varied formats.. Pam took a chance and allowed us to play this venue. NUTLEY CLUB.. This was the opportunity given to us to be let loose in public. We approached Martin and Karen, Pestered them to book us and what a night. Nutley Club on the Ashdown Forest has had many famous bands perform there and many celebrities live in the area. We made people take notice of the tightly rehearsed Two Bob Band. Looking forward to our next gig there.. ![]() CROWHURST COUNTRY PARK A Private function, a chance to strut our stuff to a younger audience and hold their attention. Not only a band with growing popularity, we educate as well !!! THE BEACH HOTEL.. A character building experience in the quest to get a new band heard. A brilliant performance for those that listened. A big THANKYOU for those that took the time to talk to us and have come to see us since. Your support of us is appreciated.. THE RED LION...STONE CROSS This is where we rehearse so the Sunday afternoon gig was always going to be a success.... We often have an open invitation to our rehearsals, this allows us to try new material and await the input. if you're around when we are..pop in. |
